New Aerospace Route @ TP

ETCM and MTN Students can now
switch over to Aerospace

Aerospace students @ TP are trained by expert Lufthansa instructors

Starting in April 2009, students who opt for the Diploma in ETCM (T05) or the Diploma in Mechatronics (MTN) (T06) at Temasek Engineering School may switch to the highly coveted Temasek Aerospace Programme after their first semester (1.1).

Suitable students from ETCM may cross over to the Diploma in Aerospace Electronics, while those students from MTN can switch over to the Diploma in Aerospace Engineering.

This special scheme will especially benefit those students with a strong interest in an Aerospace career, but who need a little more time to decide whether to pursue an Aerospace diploma. It also offers an extra avenue for those who develop their interest in Aerospace after joining ETCM or MTN.

All students who switch over to Aerospace after their 1st semester, will still end up with the same diploma as their peers who enrol directly into the respective Aerospace diplomas from Day 1. They will also be able to enjoy the same benefits, facilities, and advance standing as their peers.

This new scheme effectively gives all MTN and ETCM students extra flexibility.

For the ETCM diploma, which already allows students to branch out into 4 other diplomas(*), this new scheme means that there are now a total of 5 diploma routes from a single starting point, making ETCM the most flexible diploma programme not found in any other polytechnic in Singapore! (See flowchart of ETCM diploma.)

(*)
The 4 other diplomas are:
Diploma in Electronics
Diploma in Media & Communication Technololgy
Diploma in Computer Engineering
Diploma in Microelectronics

MTN and ETCM students who do not switch to an Aerospace diploma in semester 1.2 still have another opportunity to specialise in Aerospace, by choosing one of the Aerospace options from Semester 2.2. Admission into these Aerospace options will be based on choice as well as students' Year 1 examination results.
