Adrenalin in the Sky

First-year students from Temasek Polytechnic's Diploma in Aviation Management & Services (AMS) go through a practical flying module at Johor's Nusajaya Flight Park as part of their course.

After theoretical lessons, they then work with a Boeing 737 flight simulator which is able to simulate landing and take off procedures at a virtual Changi Airport. Finally, the students will actually fly the Jabiru J160 aircraft.

AMS lecturer, Mr Cyrano Latiff, an ex-pilot with Singapore Airlines, said that being a pilot requires discipline, accuracy and attention to details.

Another AMS lectuer, Mr Abbas Ismail, who is a former aviation security & operations specialist with the CAAS, added that Temasek Engineering School incorporates the flying experience momdule so as to give AMS students a realistic taste of the aviation world. It also benefits those who wisht to become a pilot in future.
