Seven Engineering students represented Temasek Polytechnic at the Big Challenge Domino Game held on 27 May 2001 at the IMM Building. Their job was to arrange 40,000 domino pieces to form creative patterns, making use of electronic gadgets and
props along the way. The team adopted the theme, "Fantasy Land". Working against the clock, 24 hours a day on shifts, the students slogged for 4 days in preparation for the showdown. They only had time for burgers and chicken rice. Pushing themselves to the limit, they beat 9 teams from other polytechnics and tertiary
institutions to qualify for the finals held on 8 July 2001. The event, organised by MediaWorks, was telecast over Channel U on 12 July 2001 (Thur) at 8.00pm.

In the Finals, the Temasek Engineering School team delivered an entertaining performance modelled after a "Forbidden Jungle" theme. Falling dominoes weaved through intricate forests, crocodile swarmps and treacherous valleys, to the delight of more than 200 supporters. The team emerged runner-up.
