The Learning Journey

Learning at Temasek Engineering School involves a hands-on approach, which is highly valued by employers today. There is great emphasis on practical work, where students learn by doing, find out by investigating, and solve problems by thinking creatively.

Our Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach trains students to look at different perspectives, to explore possibilities, to engage in research and development, and to innovate.

In their final year of study, students undertake a major project, working in teams with minimal intervention from lecturers. When the project is finally completed and exhibited at the annual Engineering Project Show, the sense of accomplishment is deeply fulfilling. Students learn to be innovative and resourceful - strengths which will give them a head-start in their future careers.

During the course, special guidance is also provided to students who wish to sit for external certification exams and obtain industry-recognised qualifications such as the CISCO Certified Network Associate status and the SUN Java certification. Widely respected by the industry, these certifications are a feather-in-the-cap for students upon graduation.

Our Elective Options scheme also offers Specialisation with Flexibility!

At Temasek Engineering School, students are not just trained to excel academically, but also encouraged to be enterprising as well. With the infrastructure, resources, networking and guidance provided by the School, students have turned entrepreneurs. Many have established commercial start-ups or obtained patents for products they had invented, putting to good use the skills that they have acquired from their diploma courses.
The journey to a successful future begins at the Temasek Engineering School.
