Temasek Engineering School improved on its performance at the annual Materials Science & Engineering Challenge, dethroning S'pore Poly to clinch the Gold medal in the competition held on 27 Feb 2008.

Temasek Engineering School students won the 2nd and 3rd prizes in the Materials Science & Engineering Challenge 2007, held on 1 March 2007.

The competition comprises a written test (50 MCQ questions) and an oral round, in which participants answer questions from 6 categories of topics, with marks awarded based on the level of difficulty of the questions.

The Temasek Engineering School students, who are from the Diploma in Mechatronics and Diploma in Microelectioncs, were taking part in the competition for the first time.
