The Singapore Robotic Games (SRG) is an annual competition, organised by NUS, that aims to inculcate in the general public an understanding and appreciation of robotics and automation, to promote the relevant R&D, and to encourage innovation among today’s youths, as well as provide a forum for them to display their works.
| After a subdued performance in 2008, Temasek Engineering School bounced back impressively by winning 3 Gold, 5 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals in the Singapore Robotic Games 2009, held from 20 to 22 Jan 2009. Of particular significance was the re-capturing of the Gold medal in the Autonomous Sumo Robot category -- traditionally Temasek Engineering School's forte over the years. It was sweet revenge for robotics verteran, lecturer Mr Lim Hock Beng, who was noticeably absent from the roll of honour at last year's Games. Said an elated Mr Lim after reclaiming his crown: "We have shown who is the real king of Autonomous Sumo robots. Nobody comes near us!" Temasek Engineering School also outwitted their opponents in the new "Humanoid" category. "The robots from NUS and SP could not even complete the course. Our robot was the reliable one," said the School's robotics chief, Mr Ng Yong Seng.

| Amidst stiff competition from fast-improving new rivals, Temasek Engineering School held on to clinch 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals at the annual Singapore Robotic Games held from 8 - 10 Jan 2008 at the Singapore Science Centre. Temasek Engineering School's "golden girl", Lin Lin, the defending champion in the Robotic Colony event, retained her crown this year. Asked for the secret of success, Lin Lin's owner, Mr Ng Yong Seng, replied: "No effort was spared to ensure maximum reliability of the robots." The actual strategy, of course, is trade secret.

| Temasek Engineering School performed best among the 5 Polys at the annual Singapore Robotic Games held from 16 to 19 Jan 2007. Its students grabbed 5 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal to emerge the overall best performer at the competition. The next closest teams were Singapore Poly and Nanyang Poly, who each took home only 3 Golds. Temasek Engineering School's robotic coach and lecturer in charge of the event, Mr Ng Yong Seng, said: "We would like to acknowledge the strong effort and determination put in by our students who spent long nights at the Lab."

Yet another golden performance by the Engineering team from Temasek Poly.
Engineering students from Temasek Poly won 8 medals at the SRG 2006 -- the same as in 2005. Except that this year, the colour of the medals were diffrent! Temasek Poly collected 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals (4-2-2), improving further from last year's 3-4-1.
In the keenly watch Legged Robot contests, Temasek Poly, which surprised Nanyang Poly by beating them to the Gold in the Legged Robot Obstacle race last year, lost out this time round, managing only a Silver. However, Temasek sprung another surprise on Nanyang by grabbing the Gold in the Legged Robot Marathon race instead!
There was little surprise, however, in the Robot Sumo categories. With the discontinuation of the Gladiator contest this year, Temasek Poly concentrated its firepower in the Sumo category, thrasing everyone else to grab the Gold, Silver and Bronze all at once. We're throwing in the gauntlet... anyone game for a challenge here?
What new surprise will Temasek spring next year?
For the answer, you'll have to wait for SRG 2007, I'm afraid...
But we promise you, more surprises and giant killing feats there will be, that you can be sure of!

Another successful year: Temasek Engineering students and staff at the prize presentation ceremony
Temasek Engineering School improved on its previous year's performance by bagging 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze medals in the annual Singapore Robotic Games held at Ngee Ann Poly from 3 to 5 May 2005.
Once again, the School's invincible Gladiators rammed off every single opponent, and swept all the medals at stake in the Gladiator Contest.
However, poor ol' "Hamster" last year's champion of the Sumo category, showing signs of old age and balding, was "bitten" into second place by Ngee Ann Poly.
A surprise Gold came in the Legged Robot Obstacle race, long dominated by Nanyang Poly. Underdogs Temaesk Poly's robot, "Sloppy Spider", made short work of its opponents, leaving them to fight over the silver and bronze.
In the Legged Robot Marathon race, Temasek's "C4" failed to live up to its predecessor's dramatic golden success in 2004, but still hung on for a Silver. (If you remember, Temasek Poly's "Mini Me Evolution" had in 2004 upstaged favourites Nanyang Poly to take the Legged Robot Marathon crown.)
Nevertheless, Temasek Engineering School scored another surprise Gold in the "Robot Colony" contest, again toppling favourites Nanyang Poly. Temasek's best performance since this new category was introduced 4 years ago, was only a Bronze in 2003. So the first taste of Gold in this category brought smiles all round.

Temasek Engineering School won 3 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals at SRG 2004 held at the Downtown East resort from 18--20 May 2004.
The highlight of the day was the School's fine comeback win in the Legged Robot Marathon category, for which they snatched a Gold and a Bronze medal, heralding a fine resurrection after a barren 4-year spell.
With the score tied at 1-1 in the finals, the rubber set saw a tight showdown which was settled only at the last moment, when Temasek Engineering School's robot, "Mini-Me Evolution", collared Nanyang Polytechnic just centimetres from the finishing post, to take the Gold. Designed by final year students Xiong Bo, Madeline Cheong, and Hee Teck Hwai, "Mini-Me Evolution" is the new unsung hero.
The School's other 2 Golds came from the Sumo and Gladiator contests, despite intensifying competiton which threatened to topple the School's unbeaten record in these categories. A Silver in the Legged Robot Obstacle and a Bronze in the Intelligent Robot category completed the School's 7 medal haul.

Victorious Temasek Engineering staff and students popping the champagne after the 3-day competition
The School's Gladiator and Sumo robots continued to prove invincible, grabbing all the top 3 awards at stake in those 2 categories.
Notably absent from the Gladiator contest was 2-time champion, "Black Belt". This mean machine had ravaged every robot in its way at last year's competition. This time round, rising star, "Xena" filled its shoes, proving just as devastating. The compatriots in her battle group cleaned out the rest of the medals in the Gladiator category.
Temasek Engineering School also made a comeback in the Legged Robot Marathon race, grabbing a Bronze after lying low for 2 years in this category.

Refusing to be pushed over, robots from the Temasek Engineering School scooped up 2 Gold and 2 Silver Awards at the Singapore Robotic Games 2002 held at the Expo Hall 3 from 20-22 May 2002.
The School finished back-to-back in its pet event, the Gladiator contest. Last year's defending champion and hot favourite, the "Black Belt", delivered a Gold as expected, while second place also went to another
Temasek Engineering robot, "Impact".
In the new Robot Sumo category, the School's hardy robots also took top honours, winning a Gold and a Silver.
